Ludovico Einaudi quietly owns 2024: Islands – Essential Einaudi and the newer In A Landscape both chart near the top, confirming the Italian pianist as the era's defining classical name. Beneath him the mood is crossover and calm — Andrea Bocelli's Vivere, André Rieu's Collection, Max Richter's Recomposed Vivaldi and a wave of 'relaxing' and 'chillout' classical compilations all sell hard. But the core repertoire holds firm too: Holst's The Planets, Bach's Goldberg Variations, Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Beethoven's nine symphonies and Chopin's Études all chart, alongside sacred and choral staples from the Tallis Scholars to Hildegard of Bingen. A year where streaming-age calm and centuries-old masterworks shared the same chart.
