No Time to Die led a sparse, supply-disrupted year, its top forty riddled with blank entries where titles failed to chart, a clear mark of pandemic-hit releasing. The defining pattern is the rise of premium formats: the Bond film and Zack Snyder's Justice League both chart on standard Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD and DVD, as 4K finally became a mainstream chart presence. Marvel returns with Black Widow and Shang-Chi. The surprises are the catalogue heavyweights re-charting in 4K, The Lord of the Rings trilogy at 32, and the awards winner Nomadland at 34.
